Case IH Steiger 485 Covered in Manure (RCMP Photo)Nobody said thieves make the best decisions, but even the dumbest criminals must be shaking their heads (or holding their noses) after hearing about a stolen $300,000 Case IH Steiger 485 tractor found buried in a pile of manure.

The tractor was stolen from a business near Winnipeg, Canada in December, 2010 and was recovered on a property about 100 miles north on May 31, 2012 after the Royal Canadian Mounted Police received a tip from CrimeStoppers. An excavator was required to dig out the 2009-model tractor, which was no doubt an unpleasant job for all involved.

A 24-year-old man and 22-year-old woman are facing a variety of charges.

We would very much like to ask this fetid crime team what, exactly, were they planning to do with a poop-covered tractor. We’re guessing buyers weren’t exactly lining up to take a stolen, foul-smelling tractor off their hands.
