John Deere 6R Tractor

John Deere has taken the covers off three small-frame 6R models for 2015. According to John Deere, the new 6110R, 6120R and 6130R offer the enhanced versatility and superior performance, comfort and control of any tractors in the 110 to 130 engine horsepower range.

Deere says the new small-frame 6R Tractors are designed with many of the hydraulic, control and comfort features of the larger 6R Tractors, but offer the maneuverability and compactness to more easily handle a wide variety of chores.

“The new small-frame 6Rs have additional selective control valves, which have been moved further under the cab to improve visibility to the drawbar,” Kory Ross, product manager for mid-tractors at John Deere. “Customers can choose up to five SCVs or four SCVs plus Power Beyond, giving them the added hydraulic capacity to perform more functions, and we’ve added a hose disengagement lever to make it easy to uncouple hoses under pressure.”

The cab environment and control features have also been updated in the small-frame 6Rs, giving them more commonality with the larger 7R, 8R and 9R Series Tractors. The small-frame 6Rs equipped with popular IVT transmissions come with the CommandARM and Generation 4 CommandCenter Display for finger-tip access to controls and monitors. These tractors also have AutoTrac capabilities and come with a 30-degree right-hand swivel seat for enhanced operator comfort and visibility to the rear implements.

“In addition, premium lighting packages are available that feature brighter LED lamps for improved nighttime visibility,” says Ross. “And we’ve added new hood latch-and-lift mechanisms to make servicing the tractors much easier, and increased service intervals up to 750 hours to improve uptime. That means less frequent oil changes and lower operating cost as DEF usage is reduced to three percent of fuel usage.

“These small-frame 6Rs are easy to operate and provide the reliability, durability and versatility customers can depend on in their operations,” Ross continues. “While slightly smaller in size, these tractors still pack all the performance and functionality customers expect in a rugged utility tractor.”
