John Deere W170 Windrower Preview

To meet the demands of small grain customers growing high-yielding canola varieties, John Deere introduces its smart, powerful W170 Windrower and a wide range of draper headers to make swathing faster and easier in heavy crop and hilly conditions.

“During benchmarking studies in heavy crop conditions, the W170 Windrower showed an impressive 20 percent productivity gain,” Nick McKelvey, John Deere marketing manager for windrowers, says. “With 46 inches (116.8 cm) of ground clearance and 12-inch (30.48 cm) wider walking beams, tall windrows can flow easily beneath the machine’s frame and are corralled by a new swath compressor. The swath compressor forms loose crop into a tight, uniform windrow, making it easier for a combine to pick up, eliminating the need for a canola roller.” (more…)

Hesston by Massey Ferguson Triple Windrower Attachment

Hesston by Massey Ferguson, the industry-leading hay equipment brand from AGCO Corporation, introduced an all-new triple windrow attachment (TWA) for WR9800 self-propelled windrowers during Husker Harvest Days 2016. Designed specifically to enhance forage harvesting efficiency, the TWA allows operators to place freshly cut forage in the windrow configuration best suited to the capacity and capability of the operator’s forage harvester or baler. This capability eliminates raking or merging windrows together, reducing trips through the field, lowering fuel and equipment costs and reducing labor needs.

Milestone 100,000th Hesston Windrower Coming Soon

Hesston, which introduced the self-propelled windrower to the agricultural harvesting world more than 60 years ago, will complete the production of its 100,000th windrower in March 2016 in Hesston, Kan. The landmark achievement will be celebrated in Hesston on Tuesday, March 29, 2016.

Massey Ferguson WR9800 Series SP Windrower and 2200 Series Square Baler Updated

AGCO has announced updates to its Massey Ferguson WR9800 Series SP Windrower and 2200 Series large square baler.

“The WR9800 Series now offers a RearSteer option, giving operators more on-road benefits like greater ease of transportation, best-in-class speed and enhanced stability at higher speeds,” AGCO says in a release. “The 2200 Series now offers a ProCut option with the models 2250, 2270 and 2270XD, giving operators the capacity they need to keep up with the growing demand of increased feeding capacity and more consistent cutting, even in higher-moisture crops.” (more…)

John Deere Introduces New Windrower and Platform for 2015

John Deere‘s new 2015 W260 Self-Propelled Windrower and 500R Platform feature increased horsepower and advanced cutting technology.

“The combination of the W260 Windrower and 500R Platform results in improved cut quality and consistent windrow formation to minimize dry-down time and deliver high-quality hay and forage,” says James Petersen, senior marketing representative, John Deere Ottumwa Works. “When harvesting a forage crop where time is money, operators can cut up to 100 extra acres a day because of the increased cutting speed and reduced overlaps.” (more…)
