Case IH Adds New Farmall Utility A Series Tractors

Building on nearly 100 years of power and legacy and with millions of Farmall series tractors sold, Case IH is adding three new models to its Farmall family of tractors: Farmall utility 95A, 105A and 115A. Known for exceptional value, the utility A series delivers performance without breaking the bank. The new models provide more horsepower, durability and useful features that producers need to tackle demanding tasks on beef and dairy operations; mixed farms; and specialty operations, such as poultry farms, orchards and vineyards.

“Producers need a reliable tractor that’s ready for a hard day’s work and offered at an excellent value,” said Greg Lucey, Case IH Farmall tractors marketing manager. “These new feature-loaded models provide just that and also meet demands for the toughest chores around the farm.”

More power, no engine regeneration required

The new models feature an efficient yet powerful 4-cylinder engine that provides high torque for maximum performance — ideal for handling a variety of implements, such as a loader, round baler, auger, disc mower conditioner, disc rotary cutter and field mower. Designed to match the capacity of the Case IH L575 loader, these tractors are equipped with simple, powerful hydraulic PTO for increased productivity and efficiency. Boasting 120 engine hp,1 the new Farmall 115A delivers 100 PTO horsepower— the highest available in the Farmall utility A lineup chassis class.

The same cutting-edge, fuel-efficient technologies available across the lineup of Farmall tractors are incorporated into the new models to maximize efficiency and power while increasing uptime and productivity. With a proven FPT engine, the tractors do not require a diesel particulate filter or regeneration. The technology is designed to increase uptime and decrease operating costs — all while meeting Tier 4 B/Final engine emissions standards.

“The fact that this lineup doesn’t require engine regeneration is a game changer,” Lucey said. “Producers often don’t anticipate the high costs associated with maintaining and cleaning diesel particulate filters in competitive models. Our advanced emissions system eliminates that worry completely.”

In addition, tractor models are engineered with more weight where it makes a difference — from heavy-duty powertrain components to the axle and transmission. Through this, Case IH creates a heavy, durable tractor to match demanding jobs and heavy loads. More weight enables operators to push more, pull more and lift more, and it may minimize the need for front and rear wheel weights.

More standard features for a smoother ride

To help producers stay productive through long, demanding workdays, the new models feature an ultra-comfortable cab with easy-to-operate ergonomic controls and a flat-deck platform. A right-hand console keeps all the controls close to the operator.

More standard features are incorporated into the new models to ensure a better, more productive ride:

  • 12×12 clutchless power shuttle transmission helps ensure ease of operation and saves time
  • On the cab model, a standard high-visibility roof panel allows the operator to take on loader tasks — such as stacking round bales — quickly and safely
  • Four cab-mounted work lights provide ample lighting for maximum visibility
  • Air suspension seat ensures smooth, comfortable operation
  • ISO-mounted frame minimizes vibration and noise

Adding to the Farmall family

The release of the new Farmall utility A tractor models builds on the full lineup of Case IH tractors. The new models are offered in cab and non-cab models, as well as a low-profile design for poultry and other specialty operations.

On the low-profile model, the low-clearance tire package is ideal for specialty operations where space and ground clearance are at a premium. An industry-exclusive reversing engine fan helps keep poultry farm operators running all day and prevents the engine from overheating. This feature enables the operator to clean the grill with ease, with the press of a button.

John Deere 4M Heavy Duty Compact Tractor

John Deere has announced the launch of the new John Deere 4M Heavy-Duty Tractor. Designed with commercial customers and large property owners in mind, the new 4M Heavy-Duty delivers all the performance customers demand from their utility tractor in a compact, easy to use package.

The new 4M Heavy Duty is available in two output ratings, the 52 horsepower (37.9 kW) 4052M HD and the 66 horsepower (48.5 kW) 4066M HD. Both units feature John Deere’s innovative three range eHydro transmission with Twin Touch pedals, allowing for easy direction changes and increased productivity while decreasing operator fatigue. The eHydro transmission also includes eThrottle, LoadMatch, MotionMatch and SpeedMatch systems along with automotive style cruise control.

In order to make this one of the most versatile tractors available today, John Deere equipped the 4M Heavy-Duty with a category I/II hitch with telescoping draft links. Customers can use one tractor across a broad range of implements with various hitch specifications. Thanks to the telescoping draft links, implement hook up is a simple task. Operators will be able to spend more time completing the task at hand versus struggling to attach their implements. Factory installed hydraulics also allow operators the ability to connect and use multiple hydraulic controlled implements simultaneously.

Perfect for working in small spaces and low-light conditions, like barns, stalls and poultry houses, the 4M Heavy-Duty features an innovative lighting design and a short wheel base. With the tractor’s unique fore and aft work lights, visibility is significantly improved in low-light environments. Additionally, its compact 73-inch (185.4 cm) wheel base allows for a much tighter turning radius while operating in small spaces.

“The 4M Heavy-Duty tractor was designed with versatility and ease of use in mind. With this unit we had three main objectives – increase visibility, provide industry leading maneuverability and reduce downtime related to changing attachments,” said DeMark Cole, product marketing manager, John Deere. “With this tractor, we’ve achieved all of these objectives and we look forward to getting our customers in the seats.”

The new 4M Heavy-Duty is backed by a full machine standard two-year warranty, which promises to fix any defects in materials and workmanship for two years after delivery, or 2,000 hours. Additionally, the 4M HD’s powertrain is covered by a six-year, 2,000-hour warranty.

2019 John Deere 9R Series Preview

9R family receives performance and technology updates

John Deere has announced several updates for model year 2019 to its large 9R, 9RT, and 9RX Tractors that include a mix of the latest technology and performance-enhancing features.

For the first time, John Deere is offering a 120-inch (3.05 m) track spacing option on 9470RX, 9520RX, 9570RX and 9620RX Series Four Track Ag Tractors equipped with 30- and 36-inch (76.2 cm and 91.4 cm) tracks. “The extra wide stance of this machine is ideal for customers wanting to control traffic patterns and enhanced stability on hilly terrain,” says Tiffany Turner, product marketing manager, large tractors for John Deere. “A wider stance also makes it easier to perform daily maintenance and service plus it offers hassle-free material cleanout.”

Turner says customers requiring a John Deere 9RX equipped with a 3-point hitch must select the 87-inch (2.21 m) track spacing option with the 30-inch (76.2 cm) tracks as the wider 120-inch (3.05 m) track spacing is not compatible with a 3-point hitch.

2019 John Deere 9R Profile

Deere is also offering the option of a factory- or field-installed Hydraulic Intelligent Power Management (IPM™) system to boost tractor performance when operating implements requiring continuous hydraulic power.

“Hydraulic IPM is specifically designed for air seeding operators using large drills and air carts on their farms,” Turner says.  “Hydraulic IPM provides an extra 25 horsepower in gears 5 thru 18 and adds 50 more horsepower in gears 1 thru 4, enabling the tractor to pull heavy loads through tough conditions.”

A dual-pump specific selective control valve has eight total SCVs – three, with three-quarter-inch (1.9 cm) SCVs; and five, with half-inch (1.3 cm) SCVs. The larger couplers allow for an extra 7 gallons (26.5 L) per minute hydraulic oil flow to reduce restrictions to high demand fan motors on large air carts. Increased hydraulic capacity also makes it quicker to raise and lower the frames on large air drills for improved efficiency in the field.

Hydraulic IPM is compatible with model year 2015 John Deere 9620R Ag Tractors and 2016 9620RX Ag Tractors. It requires a 115-gallon (435 L) per minute dual hydraulic pump and is not compatible with a 3-point hitch.

2019 John Deere 9R Front

A factory-installed Generation 4 CommandCenter™ 18-1 Software update is also included as base equipment for model year 2019 on John Deere 9R, 9RT and 9RX Tractors.

A CommandCenter AutoTrac™ activation comes with the MY 2019 update and provides a non-transferrable, machine-specific AutoTrac functionality on the integrated Gen 4 Command Center. The previously available Command Center Premium Activation will be discontinued and replaced with the 4600 CommandCenter Premium Activation 3.0 or 4600 CommandCenter Automation 1.0.

“AutoTrac guidance is included in base equipment on these tractors. AutoTrac has been shown to reduce operator fatigue, save fuel by reducing overlap, and help you work more acres in less time,” Turner explains.
