John Deere Gator XUV590i

A pair of new Gators have been added to the John Deere family – the XUV590i and XUV590i S4 Crossover Utility Vehicles.

Deere says the new Gators are designed for crop and livestock producers who looking for performance, comfort and customization. Each features a Twin-cylinder engine, independent four-wheel suspension and availability of more than 75.

“The XUV590i and XUV590i S4 four-passenger models were designed to get more chores checked off your to-do list, in a more comfortable setting,” said Mark Davey, John Deere marketing manager, Gator utility vehicles. “Outdoor enthusiasts can navigate terrain faster with a top speed of over 45 mph thanks to quick acceleration powered by a 586 cc, 32 horsepower, liquid-cooled inline Twin-cylinder gasoline engine.”

The suspension on both new Gators provides a total of 8.0 inches of travel on all four corners, while adjustable coil over shocks allow users to fine tune the ride to their liking.

The XUV590i offers drivers a minimum of 10.5 inches of ground clearance, 800-pound payload capacity and 1,100-pound towing capacity. The four-seat XUV590i S4 has 9.3 inches of ground clearance, 1,200-pound payload capacity and 1,100-pound towing capacity.

The cargo bed is a one-piece design with high-density polyethylene composite material and rounded inside corners that help make sure material dumps out properly when the bed is tilted.

Each new Gator also comes equipped with an 875 watt, 65 ampere alternator to run auxiliary attachments, such as lights, winches and sprayers, without the fear of discharging the battery. As well, Deere says it kept both sound and vibration levels low.

“Operators and passengers alike will appreciate the low noise and vibration levels on the new Gator XUV590i and XUV590i S4,” Deere says in a release. “These benefits are achieved by isolating the powertrain and utilizing sound-dampening material around the engine and CVT intakes.”

The XUV590i S4 also comes with a convertible cargo rack that offers additional cargo volume when users don’t need the back seats. A flip of a lever expands the cargo capacity by 48 percent.

Other features of Deere’s new Crossover Utility Vehicles include 7.4-gallon fuel tank and a backlit instrument cluster that offers readings for speed, engine rpm, fuel level, coolant temperature and warning lights for information such as power steering, maintenance reminders and seat belt reminder.

The Gator XUV590i starts at $9,799 and XUV590i S4 starts at $11,399. Both machines are already available at John Deere dealers.
