MTD was founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1932 as the Modern Tool and Die Company. MTD entered the lawn and garden power equipment business in the 1958, and that eventually became the core of the company’s business. MTD’s family of brands includes MTD Gold, MTD Pro, Bolens, Yard Machines, Yard-man, Remington and Cub Cadet.
