Yamaha Awards Ag Scholarships

Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., has awarded its annual scholarships for National Ag Communicators of Tomorrow (NACT) students at the Ag Media Summit (AMS) in Indianapolis last week. Three chapters including the University of Missouri, University of Florida and University of Nebraska-Lincoln were awarded a combined $4,000 to help with travel costs associated with students attending AMS.

Yamaha also awarded a $1,500 individual scholarship to Valerie Kesterson, a student from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. “The Yamaha scholarships were pivotal in our chapter’s decision to attend Ag Media Summit this year,” Kesterson said. (more…)

Mahindra Introduces Urban Agricultural Scholarship

Mahindra USA has introduced a unique scholarship program specifically designed to support urban youth interested in pursuing a career in the agricultural industry.

In a joint effort with the National FFA Organization, Mahindra will award five, $2,500 merit-based scholarships to high school students from Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Houston or Indianapolis entering college in the Fall of 2015. Scholarship winners will be selected based on their commitment to pursuing an agricultural industry related secondary degree, and their current passion and leadership in high school agriculture activities as well as academic performance. Kubota Adds Two New Models to MX-Series

Kubota has unveiled two new models to its MX-Series utility ag tractor line with the MX4800 and MX5200. Both tractors offer two- and four-wheel-drive models and HST models, and deliver 49.3 or 54.7 horsepower, respectively. Kubota boasts the new machines offer enhanced environmental performance, compliant with Tier 4 Final emissions, as well as increased engine power, greater comfort and upgraded ergonomics.

Curtis Unveils Windshield and Canopy for John Deere Gator UTVs

Curtis Industries has unveiled a new canopy and folding windshield for the John Deere Gator TS, TX, and TE model UTVs.

Constructed of molded high-density polyethylene, the canopy is designed to offer a combination of toughness and light weight. Aluminum support tubes mount directly to the Gator chassis bracket. As well, no drilling is required, significantly reducing installation time. (more…)

John Deere has added a higher horsepower, large capacity, self-propelled sprayer to its 4-Series lineup – the R4045.

John Deere Unveils New Tractor Utility Box

Finding room in a tractor cab for tools, parts, and other items needed while in the field can be a pain for operators. Small toolboxes have been supplied and located on different areas of the tractor, but the storage space has been limited. John Deere has addresses the problem with its new Tractor Utility Box.

“We’ve increased the storage capacity of this new Tractor Utility Box,” says Phil Lauer, marketing manager, John Deere. “And, it is designed with a special front weight mount kit to be attached easily on the front weight support of the tractor.
