Challenger Launches MT800E Series Track Tractors

With an eye on helping farmers tackle tough conditions, Challenger has launched its MT800E Series track tractors. Available in four models ranging from 450 to 590 engine HP, these machines feature new AGCO POWER 168, 16.8L diesel engines.

Hesston Introduces 2200 Series Large Square Balers

Hesston by Massey Ferguson introduced the 2200 Series large square baler at the 2013 Farm Progress show in Decatur, Ill. According to Hesston, new features engineered into the 2200 Series help custom harvesters and producers bale a wider variety of crops, particularly crop residue, under a broad range of conditions.

“With increasing crop yields, the need to bale excess residue like straw and corn stalks is really driving demand for balers such as the 2200 Series. Baling is a management solution that gets excess residue off the field to help ensure top yields the following year,” says Dean Morrell, product marketing manager for hay and forage. “The growing biomass fuels industry also requires a durable, reliable machine with the capability to handle a wide range of crops, often in less-than-perfect conditions. Challenger To Unveil MT400D Series Mid-Range Tractors

Challenger plans to introduce and display its new MT400D Series mid-range tractors at the 2013 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Ill., Aug. 27-29.

“These new MT400D Series tractors are built with the professional farmer in mind,” says David Bercik, product marketing manager. “These handy, productive tractors round out any fleet and are perfect for the daily chores of a busy farming operation.”

The MT400D Series includes five models – MT455D, MT465D, MT475D, MT485D and MT495D – ranging from 90 to 125 PTO horsepower. The 4.9-liter AGCO Power engine that powers each model features wet, replaceable cylinder liners and mid supports. The four-cylinder powerplant benefits from an intercooled turbocharger, four valves per cylinder, high-pressure common-rail fuel injection and electronic engine management. Each MT400D also meets Tier 4-interim emissions standards for North America. (more…)

Massey Ferguson To Unveil New 1700 Series Compact Tractors

Massey Ferguson will introduce its new 1700 Series compact tractors at the 2013 Farm Progress Show, Aug. 27-29 in Decatur, Ill.

The 1700 Series tractors, building upon the success of the popular 1600 Series, feature new Tier 4-compliant turbo-charged diesel engines.

“Operators today are looking for a comfortable tractor that is productive and powerful, yet efficient, regardless of what type of work they’re doing,” says David Bercik, product marketing manager for Massey Ferguson. “These newly designed 1700 Series tractors deliver exactly that.”

The Series offers six models from 35 to 60 gross engine horsepower, all featuring four-wheel drive, the option of a cab or open platform, a choice of two transmissions, plus rear and/or mid PTOs. John Deere Unveils Flex Fuel ZTrak Mower


John Deere is adding a Flex Fuel version of its ZTrak mower to its fleet. The new Z925M Flex Fuel is compatible with ethanol blends up to E85, giving contractors a new alternative fuel option for their fleets.

“When we introduced the new line of ZTrak mowers last year, our intent was to meet the needs of every customer,” says Steve Wilhelmi, John Deere tactical marketing manager. “The new Z925M Flex Fuel model continues that mission by appealing to customers who need or prefer to run on alternative-fuel platforms.”

The new Flex Fuel model is part of the M Series of ZTrak commercial mowers, designed for customers seeking productivity and efficiency. With a 24.6 hp electronic fuel injected engine, the Z925M Flex Fuel can run on any blend of ethanol-mixed fuel, up to E85, and it has a top speed of 10 mph. Offered in 54- and 60-inch widths, it comes equipped with a 7-Iron deck. (more…)

Bobcat Introduces New E63 Compact Excavator

Bobcat has unveiled its new E63 Compact Tail Swing excavator, featuring improvements in joystick controls, lift capacity, arm and bucket forces, and drive performance.

Replacing the E60, the E63 becomes the second-largest machine in the company’s compact excavator family. The 6.3-metric-ton excavator features a number of operator conveniences including a blade float, multi-function joysticks, color instrumentation panel and an auto-shift drive system.

At an operating weight of 13,779 pounds, the E63 provides 59.4 horsepower, an increase of 13.5 percent. Its diesel engine is also Tier 4 compliant. The diesel engine features a high-pressure common-rail fuel injection system, a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and a diesel particulate filter (DPF). (more…)

Mahindra USA To Expand Distribution Center

Mahindra USA has announced plans for an exclusive Southeast Mahindra Assembly and Distribution Center in January, 2014, expanding one of the company’s four tractor assembly and distribution facilities in North America. The expanded assembly and distribution center will continue to be located in Chattanooga, Tenn. and will support the growing southeast and midwest Mahindra dealer networks.

The Southeast Mahindra Assembly and Distribution Center will be operated by Randy Topping, owner of Mahindra dealer Chattanooga Tractor and Equipment. The center will have a positive impact on the Chattanooga area economy as Mahindra says it will employ up to 100 people in the operation as it moves into full production, creating 55 new jobs. John Deere Launches Mobile-Friendly Parts Website

With eyes on better serving its customers, John Deere has introduced a mobile version of jdparts.deere.com. According to John Deere, this new service will allow customers to access the site whenever they are on line with their mobile devices.

“Accessing the mobile version can be accomplished by simply typing in jdparts.deere.com on any browser on any smartphone,” says Jim Goldschmidt, product line manager, John Deere. “The user will automatically pick up the mobile version, m.jdparts.deere.com of the website.”

The mobile site can also be accessed on tablets by typing in m.jdparts.deere.com. The “m” is essential on tablet devices to pick up the mobile configuration and not the normal computer desktop version. (more…)
