Mahindra and genZe Donate Equipment to Phoenix

Mahindra North America (MNA) and sister company genZe partnered to make a donation of a Mahindra mPACT XTV 750 S and two genZe eBikes to the city of Phoenix, Arizona, the host city of its sixth National Dealer Meeting (NDM). Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton accepted the gifts on behalf of the city during Mahindra’s opening session at NDM. The utility vehicle will be used to support the city’s sustainability programs and the eBikes will be put to work in the growing Phoenix police department.

“As part of each National Dealer Meeting, we find a way to give back to the community we visit. We worked closely with the Mayor’s office to determine what would best serve Phoenix and, as part of our Rise philosophy of driving positive change, we provided the city with a utility vehicle to be used as part of their composting and green organics initiative,” said Cleo Franklin, Vice President Marketing and Strategic Planning, Mahindra NA. “In addition, we learned there was a need for reliable, high-quality personal transportation at the Phoenix Police department, leading to the donation of two genZe eBikes.” (more…)

John Deere Introduces 2230 Field Cultivator & 2330 Mulch Finisher

To help producers prepare a more agronomically sound seedbed ahead of the planter in often short time windows, John Deere introduces two new tillage tools. These next-generation secondary tillage implements are designed from “below the ground up” to work faster and smarter, making customers more productive while effectively handling tough soil conditions and high levels of crop residue at speeds up to 10 mph.

“Producers are continually demanding more from their tillage equipment in terms of soil mixing and residue management, faster operating speeds and more precise depth control,” says Jarred Karnei, product marketing manager for John Deere. “To meet those needs, we’ve increased working widths and operating speeds, and provided a wider array of finishing attachments to create that custom field finish and firm seedbed that’s so important for uniform germination and crop establishment.” (more…)

Kutoba Gives L-Series Tractor to U.S. Army Veteran

Kubota Tractor Corporation today announced that the latest recipient of a donated tractor in its “Geared To Give” program is farmer veteran Chad Tackett, owner of Tackett Family Farms in Lincolnton, Georgia. During a special ceremony, Tackett was presented with the keys to a new Kubota L-Series compact tractor in recognition of his years of service in the U.S. Army and for his dedication to farming. The donation was made by Kubota in partnership with the Farmer Veteran Coalition (FVC), in an effort to provide financial support and donated Kubota equipment to U.S. military veterans pursuing a future in farming.

Tackett and his wife Shirlene, a U.S. Air Force veteran, manage roughly 200 acres of land including planted pines, hardwoods and pastures where they raise grass-fed Texas Longhorn cattle. Tackett grew up feeding cattle and raising hogs on family farms, and with his experience and new Kubota tractor, he plans to develop the farm and expand his cattle operation to sell meat locally by late next year. A father of four, Tackett’s son Zach serves in the U.S. Navy where he is stationed in King’s Bay, Georgia. Tackett served in the U.S. Army for 22 years where he was stationed across the U.S. and overseas before retiring in 2012. (more…)

New Holland Agriculture will expand its wide offering with new implement product lines as a result of CNH Industrial’s  agreement to acquire the agricultural Grass and Soil business of Kongskilde Industries, part of the Danish Group Dansk Landbrugs Grovvareselskab (DLG A.m.b.A.). This business develops, manufactures and sells solutions for agricultural applications in the Tillage and Hay & Forage segments under various brands, including Kongskilde, Överum and JF. Wildy Family Farms Receives Use of New Massey Ferguson Tractor

David Wildy, the 2016 Swisher Sweets/Sunbelt Expo Southeastern Farmer of the Year award winner will be using a new Massey Ferguson tractor free for the next year, compliments of sponsor, Massey Ferguson. Wildy and his family operate a 12,000-acre farm near Manila, Ark., where they raise cotton, corn, soybeans and wheat along with peanuts and potatoes, recent additions to their cropping program.
